Engineering Manager Services and Sustaining

The person will be primarily responsible for managing a team of engineers to deliver engineering services to the Design Engineering organization, providing leadership in terms of engineering services and sustaining activities; and managing engineering change request/notification processes, engineering service offerings, product qualification/certification, and third parties both inside and outside the company. Additional responsibilities entail looking after and appropriately routing customers' requests for information; collaborating across functions and team boundaries to develop and implement new solutions and processes; leading ongoing improvement activities; and monitoring the flow of information between Design Engineering and other departments. Manage a team of engineers to deliver engineering Services to the Design Engineering organization. Be a hands-on manager providing leadership of engineering Services and Sustaining activities.
Manage third parties inside and outside the company, including contractor resources, on custom and semi-custom electronics design, mechanical design, PCB layout and software development.
Manage engineering change request and notification processes (ECR/ECN).
Manage engineering Services offerings: CAD, 2D and 3D mechanical design, and PCB layout.
Manage product qualification and certification.
Manage and appropriately route requests for information from internal and external customers.
Work across functions and team boundaries to define, design, and implement technology solutions for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs and processes.
Develop, propose, and manage the Services and Sustaining projects budgets.
Manage team and processes to achieve root cause analysis and problem resolution.
Lead engineering processes including, but not limited to FMEA, DFQ, DFM, VA/VE, and RCA.
Lead continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives.
Manage the flow of information between Design Engineering and production, manufacturing, quality and other departments to determine solutions to challenges with existing product lines.
Review PPAP inspection reports and provide disposition for Design Engineering.
Participate in warranty return activities and direct corrective actions for product design related issues/concerns.
Demonstrated track-record of successfully managing engineering teams.
Demonstrated track-record of successfully managing development projects.
Global or multi-site project leadership experience within manufacturing, product development or research environment.
Demonstrated experience on global product releases throughout the entire NPI cycle.
Expert knowledge of engineering product development and design methodologies.
Knowledge of engines, how they work, and the measurement, ignition, and control systems typically used on engines.
Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design.
Knowledge of Ethernet basics.
Knowledge of test equipment, Oscilloscopes, power supplies, frequency counters, frequency sources, 4-20mA inputs and outputs, PC interfaces (Serial converters, CAN converters) Ethernet switches, etc.)
Knowledge of temperature, pressure, vibration sensors and methods.
Preferred knowledge of Modbus, CAN bus, EtherNet/IP.
Preferred to have a working knowledge of PLC's, both hardware and software, ladder logic.
Preferred knowledge of UL/ETL/IEC standards and how they apply to designs.
Working knowledge of an ERP system, SAP preferred.
Working knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO14001 qualification and certification processes.
Working knowledge of document management, and drawing vault systems.
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited program at an accredited university or college
Advanced degree preferred.
Six Sigma training preferred.
5-10 years of industry experience in electrical or electronics engineering.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering manager or engineering team leader role.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and influencing skills. Ability to motivate direct reports and interdisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated ability to present recommendations to executive leadership to improve the products, processes or technologies.
Creative problem solver and solution developer when presented with conflicting requirements, business demands and technical risks or issues.
Ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines, make decisions with speed and accuracy based on best available information.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at different sites and different levels inside and outside of the company.
Understanding of quality control and documentation control. Attention to details and documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
